The first thing that must be highlighted about Facebook is the cost efficiency, it’s free to have a personal membership, business page, or fan page. In which most social networking sites are free, but this is a true benefit for a small online business who needs a place to advertise that can reach many prospective customers. I am not sure what your personal thoughts are about Facebook, but I would guess five-hundred million users would be a large enough market place for me.
Now the question is, how to go about turning Facebook into that Market Place? Well it is simple, if you already have a Facebook profile or membership, you can choose to use your personal profile as a market street to post links and articles or you can start a completely different account. If you would like to still use your personal account and have some sense of separation between the two, you can create fan-pages or business pages that are validated through your personal account.
Once you have created your fan-page or business page, the last step is to set it up with relevant content and information related to your niche. A really great thing to do would be to get fan-page templates and other private label content to use, then you can personalize and brand your fan-pages anyway you would like.
However, remember that although turning Facebook into your personal Market Place is a very obtainable task. This is a highly respected and security based social network, so be sure to post content that is appropriate and is within the guidelines of the website.
